Having kept diaries for my pilgrimages to Oshkosh in 2000, 2001, and 2003, I made the deliberate decision to forego it for my visit on 2005 and again this year. Once again, Ed and Ron invited me to go along ans this year they agreed to allow me to invite my good friend, Karl, from Düsseldorf. Since we'd be picking up the rental RV in Milwaukee, Karl decided to fly there from Germany and stay in a hotel near the airport. We left early in the AM from Ron's house and got to the hotel in time to meet Karl for dinner. In the AM we picked up the motor home and were at Friar Tuck's in Oshkosh in time for a late lunch. Of course, we once again set up camp at 14th and Linburgh in Camp Scholler. AirVenture was great as always and this year was a bit more special because we shared it with Karl. I took my dad's bike for him to use so we were able to get around without always depending on the car and, frankly, I like that more. This year was my first visit to the seaplane base and I really enjoyed that. I like the water and boats as much as I like flying so those guys have the best of both worlds! It was a great week!
